HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS
Many children have after school sport or activities at least one night after school, so work out your schedule and spread your homework out. This will build up much needed good habits that will greatly assist you in your future years of school. We expect at least 15 minutes reading each night.
Here are some expectations that children in sixth grade should meet when completing homework:
« Read all directions carefully
« Write neatly and put spaces between words
« Pay attention to capital letters, punctuation and correct spelling
« Complete all drawings in color
« Check the rubric (using finger to finger strategy) to be sure your
work is completed correctly
« If you don’t understand what to do, ask your teachers or call a friend
« Re-read work to check that it all makes sense.
« Make every effort to complete work - call a friend for work if needed
« Turn homework in on time - both in class (by 8:30 am) and on-line.
